State of emergency extended

The Brandon Sun - 9/22/2021

The provincial government has once again extended its ongoing state of emergency owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler announced in a media release on Tuesday that a 30-day extension of the state of emergency will go into effect as of 4 p.m. today.

“Our government understands the hardships and fatigue associated with the ongoing changes and restrictions,” Schuler stated in the release. “We will continue to adapt and respond to the pandemic, but we need Manitobans to continue to follow the fundamentals to ensure we can move forward on the path of a post-pandemic recovery.”

The state of emergency was first declared on March 20, 2020.
