This week in Fort Worth: Goats, child care, Fort Worth ISD’s enrollment

Fort Worth Star-Telegram - 2/13/2024

This week in Fort Worth: Find out how goats can prevent wildfires, why Fort Worth ISD numbers are down, and how a $12 million project to open childcare centers at Tarrant County college campuses is going.

First, meet Wynonna, one of about 40 goats eating dead weeds and grass to prevent fires in Weatherford. Goats like Wynonna are an environmentally sustainable way to get rid of underbrush and turn it into fertilizer.

Also: Fort Worth is going through a population boom, but Fort Worth ISD is going through an enrollment decline. That may mean cuts in staff and school closures.

And a $12.1 million project to open child care centers on Tarrant County College campuses will come to fruition next year. The centers will provide infant, toddler and preschool services.
