Modesto resident sentenced to 53 years in prison for sexual assault, child molestation

Modesto Bee - 11/7/2021

Nov. 7—Modesto resident David James Deichman was sentenced to 53 years in prison for sexual assault and child molestation, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office.

Deichman, 28, was convicted by a Stanislaus Superior Court jury in August and found guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of lewd acts upon a child, one count of using a minor for posing involving sexual conduct, as well as one count of molesting a child.

In 2008, Deichman, then 15, showed pornography to two minors and attempted to solicit them for sexual acts. Between October 2017 and May 2018, at 24, Deichman repeatedly molested a 13-year-old minor and took pictures of her during one of the incidents.

His crimes were reported in 2018 after one of the minors disclosed the acts to her mother.

During Deichman's sentencing hearing Oct. 22, Judge Kellee Westbrook heard victim impact statements from two minors before sentencing the defendant to serve his term in state prison, where he may become eligible for elder parole at age 50.
